The Brimble Family

David Brimble w/ older brother, Richard - 1910The first person born  in the 20th century on the Brimble branch of my family was my Grandfather, David. Born 07 December 1908 in Coaldale,  Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. His generation was the first of this line of Brimbles to be born in the United States. It is unclear at this point from where the family immigrated. We had always been told that they came from England. However, further research has shown that they probably came from Wales.

David Brimble 1927David married my Grandmother, Lucy B. John(s) in 1935 . They lived in Lansford, Carbon County, PA. On 1 January 1939, the first baby was born in Carbon County, my father,  David Rees. Later, the family moved to the Frankford section of Philadelphia. My Grandfather worked at the Frankford Arsenal and Bendix Aviation during W.W.II. In 1945, they moved to Broomall, PA, a suburb of Philadelphia. Their daughter, Leah, was born at their home in 1947.

David later worked for Gulf Oil Co. He and Lucy were able to live in S. Korea while he worked at several refineries there from 1967-1971.
