of Lillie. Their names are on the back of the photo, however it is illegible at this
point.) |

Isaac J & Abagail Sober with some of their children. (Most are
unidentified. I believe the man seated to the far left is John F. Sober. The man w/ the
moustache standing in the second row is George R. Sober. Lillie B. Sober is seated to the
right of her mother, Abagail.) |

Update 31 Jan 2002....Mystery Solved!
While looking through the 1860 Census (Coal Twp.,
Shamokin P.O., Northumberland Co., PA) for another family, I came
across an entry for an Elizabeth Furman (age 15) living with
Alvin Alexander (age 32) & his wife, Rebecca (age 26). It turns
out that "pop's uncle Alvin Alexander" was married to
Rebecca Furman, daughter of John Furman & Ann Ritchie. John
and Ann Furman had both died in 1859, and young Elizabeth must have
gone to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Alvin
Alexander.
Alexander was his surname, not a middle name, which
was partially responsible for my confusion.
